European context: guest nights, reference year 2025

Eurostat records approximately 3.1 billion nights in EU tourist accommodation in 2025, up 4.1% from 2024. Source: Eurostat’s 16 October 2026 release, dataset tour_occ_ninraw. This is an EU total and must not be presented as an Italian figure.

How to read and cite the figures

Arrivals and guest nights are different. Two guests staying three nights produce six guest nights, not three bookings. National totals do not automatically describe an individual hotel’s performance. Keep the unit, territory, observation year and source reference when reusing a figure.

Figures come from primary publications consulted on 20 October 2026, preserving their explicit reference periods. This is neither proprietary Lenzuoli research nor a comparable Italy–EU series constructed by this website. Rounding follows the cited releases; publishers can revise figures.
